TEEB reports that an atmospheric CO2 concentration of 450 ppm (16% above current levels) will devastate coral reefs.
60% of coral reefs could be lost – even by 2030 – through fishing, pollution, diseases, invasive alien species and coral bleaching due to climate change.
This projection is largely based on the work of Hughes et al. (2003).
